| Peer Support Australia is dedicated to providing school communities with an evidence based, peer led approach to enhance the mental, social and emotional wellbeing of young people.
|
Each of the peer led modules forms part of a learning continuum aiming to assist young people to develop positive values, attitudes, behaviours and skills related to orientation, relationships, optimism, resilience, anti-bullying and values. School communities are able to plot a learning pathway through the modules to address their specific needs and goals.
Primary School Modules include:

Getting Started module:This module is an introduction, designed for schools which have not previously run the Peer Support Program.

This 8 session module focuses on relationships. It provides opportunities for students to develop skills in maintaining positive friendships by learning how to play fairly, accept friendships change, support each other and acknowledge they may have a variety of friends.

This 8 session module focuses on providing a framework for students to learn about optimism with an emphasis on skills including positive self talk and resilience. Students learn to approach life with a positive attitude, use their strengths, engage in enjoyable activities and show gratitude to others.

This 8 session module focuses on resilience. Students develop skills in coping, resilience, planning and monitoring stress. Students identify their personal strengths, people who can support them and strategies to assist in becoming more resilient.

This 8 session module focuses on anti-bullying. Students develop skills in decisions making, problem solving, assertiveness, empathy and relationship building.
This 8 session module is part of a whole school approach to address the issue of bullying behaviours in a positive way and includes staff training, teacher led lessons and a parent awareness raising session.
